Damn me, I'm getting old. That's right 'cause I dont't remember who used to say that you shouldn't talk or write about music masterpieces, yo should listen to them. But one thing is sure: whoever it was, he/she was right. Phil Rind - a leader of Arizona based thrash metal legends SACRED REICH. Seems to follow that rule. So his description of 10 all time favorite albums probably is the shortest in whole history of Metal Portal. But I guess that he's done a part of this homework in unforgettable „31 Flavors”. So let's check what has changed after almost 20 years...

I. METALLICA “Master of Puppets”
How do you top “Battery”, “Damage Inc.” and “Master of Puppets”? You don’t. A Masterpiece.







II. SLAYER “Reign In Blood”
The most crushing thirty minutes ever put down on vinyl. Relentless!








III. BLACK SABBATH “Black Sabbath”
Arguably the beginning of metal. Incredible riffs, pounding drums and bass and a young Ozzy’s voice. WOW!







IV. BAD BRAINS “I Against I”
Punk/Metal/Raggae crossover that still sounds fresh and powerful all these years later. HR rules!







V. IRON MAIDEN “Iron Maiden”
The first two Maiden records are still my favorites. Nothing against Bruce Dickinson, but the immediacy and energy on this record can’t be topped.







VI. JUDAS PRIEST “British Steel”
“Rapid Fire”, “Grinder”, and “Metal Gods” all in a row? Bow. We are not worthy.







VII .OZZY OSBOURNE “Diary of a Madman”
Two words: Randy Rhoads.








VIII. MEGADETH „Killing is My Business and Business is Good”
Riff O Rama! To me the best Dave’s voice ever sounded. Best way to feel when making a metal record? Pissed off!







IX. D.R.I.“Dealing With It”
The fastest shit I had ever heard! Great lyrics and singing and Spike kicks ass!







X. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY “Animosity”
Heavy as shit, reckless, passionate hardcore/metal with piercing lyrics.
