Mustaine issues update

MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update: "As we near the time where all of our gear will be returning from Priest Feast, I can't help but get excited about picking up where we left off. Andy (Sneap) and I are on track to start back up on the 11th or so, with the first order being setting up all of the gear again, now that it has all been moved and new gear has been received. For example: I have just received all of the stunning Marshall 1960 DM cabinets, and I also got one of the new Randy Rhoads Marshalls to use for my lead solos. I am pumped about this!!... More...

HEARSE

New album to include bonus DVD

HEARSE, the Swedish "death 'n' roll" band featuring former ARCH ENEMY singer Johan Liiva and ex-FURBOWL drummer Max Thornell, will release its fifth album, "Single Ticket To Paradise", on June 15 via Vic Records. Thornell says, "it'll be, as I see it, a good value for the money release with a bonus live DVD filmed in Holland back in 2004. Am quite eager myself to see it actually! Haven't seen a second of it yet. Just remember a review from that gig saying that we sucked 'cos I wore a SPICE GIRLS t-shirt and that is unacceptable 'cos it's so not serious bla bla bla...! Quite funny, as I said before the gig that I just gotta wear it 'cos it'll always annoy someone, he he! At Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

METALLICA played "Master Of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman" at tonight's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, with the band's former bassist Jason Newsted and his replacement, Robert Trujillo, both taking part in the performance (the group played as a five-piece). They also led a "surprise jam" at the end of the night consisting of "Train Kept A Rollin'", with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' Flea, LED ZEPPELIN's Jimmy Page, AEROSMITH's Joe Perry and Jeff Beck (see video below).... Swedish melodic doom/death metallers SLUMBER have issued the following update: "Recording of the album 'Resonance' will begin September 1. Four weeks recording is scheduled. Vrangsinn provides music for horror

Musician and producer Daniel Vrangsinn (VRANGSINN, CARPATHIAN FOREST, SECHT, NATTEFROST, A WASTE OF TALENT) has provided some of his own music for the soundtrack of the Danish horror film "Rovdrift", whose English title is "Bleed With Me". Written and directed by Emil Ishii and produced by Anne Worm, "Bleed With Me" (Doghouse Films in association with Cetus Productions) has been three years in the making, originally under the working titles of "Predatory Instinct" and "Hellride" and will make its international debut during the 13th International Weekend of Fear Film Festival which takes place on May 1-2 at the Manhattan Kinos in Erlangen, Germany.... German modern metal act MAROON's upcoming album, Order, is currently streaming in its entirety on their official MySpace Page at this location. Complete work on new album

Toronto-based thrash legends SACRIFICE have issued the following update: "We began in late December, and ended this week. Our final mix is now complete. Don’t be deceived by the three month time span, in reality we didn’t take much more studio time than we had in the past…it was just spread out a lot more. Everything went the way we planned and the final product exceeds the expectations that we came into the studio with. New album details revealed

Belgian technical death metallers IN-QUEST will release their new album, "Made Out Of Negative Matter", later in the year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. According to the band, the new CD "came to life in cooperation with Jochem Jacobs (TEXTURES) of Split Second Sound [studios]. Guitars and bass were home-recorded by the band under supervision of Jochem. Drums, vocals and additional stuff were recorded by Jochem. Engineered, mixed and mastered by Jochem also."... More...

Heralded Indianapolis, Indiana doom metal masters THE GATES OF SLUMBER have signed to England's Rise Above Records. The band's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2008's "Conqueror" is slated for a fall 2009 release. WARBRINGER

Drummer injured, band to continue touring

Los Angeles thrashers WARBRINGER have started touring in support of their upcoming sophomore release, "Waking Into Nightmares", which will hit shelves on May 19. Unfortunately, the band has run into a problem as drummer Nic Ritter faced a major injury recently, breaking his elbow after slipping on ice after a recent show. WARBRINGER has vowed to continue on, however, with guitarist Adam Carroll on drums until they meet up with EPICUREAN, whose drummer John Gensmer has agreed to play both sets.... More...
