Guitarist diagnosed with liver cancer

The management of Australian hard rock legends ROSE TATTOO has announced that the band's guitarist and founding member, Mick Cocks, has been diagnosed with liver cancer. Manager Steve White said, "Mick has asked that I release this information to avoid the rumor mill taking control of information. The situation is that Mick has been diagnosed with liver cancer and is now under the advice of the very best doctors in Sydney. A brand new project has been formed featuring original FEAR FACTORY members Dino Cazares (guitar) and Burton C. Bell (vocals). SOUR SYSTEM, the new project led by former CARNAL FORGE guitarist Jari Kuusisto, will enter the studio this summer to begin recording its debut album for a late 2009 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label. LACUNA COIL vocalist Cristina Scabbia has checked in with the following update: "Hello to all my friends out there! Just a little update from the Music As A Weapon IV tour... We're in New Orleans today, just came off stage, it's so humid here, but works for me! Things are going GREAT, the bands on the bill are all awesome and we're having a great time hanging out with them. We already did few barbecues in the night after the shows, which is always cool and comforting (food on the road is not like home) , plus it's a great chance to socialize with the HUGE amount of people involved in this festival....
