PRAYING MANTIS

New album details revealed

Frontiers Records has set a June 5 European release date for the new studio album from NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) legends PRAYING MANTIS, entitled "Sanctuary" (July 14 in the U.S.). The CD was recorded in Atlanta, Georgia under the direction of producer/engineer Andy Reilly (ASIA, THE CULT, BRUCE DICKINSON, FM, etc). "Hard to believe but MANTIS have been in existence for over thirty years," says bassist Chris Troy. "Quite incredible, really, that we are still there releasing albums and maturing nicely. This also coincides with the 30th anniversary since the inception of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). IRON MAIDEN have obviously made it and just as importantly have managed to stay up there for this long time. Well done, lads! By the way, the album title 'Sanctuary' has no relationship to them!! As previously reported, Canadian metallers VOIVOD have confirmed Infini as the title of their final album, due out June 12th/15th via Nuclear Blast Europe and JVC Japan. The album will be released in early July via Relapse Records in the US and Sonic Unyon in Canada.... More...

Finnish gothic metallers TO/DIE/FOR have officially disbanded. Commented singer Jape Peratalo: "My nerves, stress level and life came to the point that I really need to get some rest and say goodbye for these stressful and still nice days with TO/DIE/FOR. Since 2005, we have been through so many shitty things. We have been unlucky to meet so many shitty promoters etc. FUCK YOU ALL (this is for all of those socalled promoters who ruined some of our tours, and are also one of TO/DIE/FOR's killers). Also, I have to thank some promoters, like AYU from Mexico! And, of course, we met other great and friendly promoters too around the world! But...a few assholes really can kill you!?... More...
