Fernando Ribeiro sings fado

Vocalist Fernando Ribeiro of the Portuguese metal band MOONSPELL makes a guest appearance on an album called "Amália Hoje", which is scheduled for release on Portugal on April 27. The CD features a number of Portuguese artists paying tribute to Amália Rodrigues, who was the unchallenged queen of fado — the Portuguese equivalent of flamenco or blues. Ribiero can be heard on two songs — "O Grito" and "Formiga Bossa Nova". Also scheduled to appear on the album, which was produced by Nuno Gonçalves (THE GIFT), are Sónia Tavares (THE GIFT) and Paulo Praça (ex-TURBO JUNKIE), among others.

MOONSPELL released its long-awaited new DVD, "Lusitanian Metal", in December in Europe via Century Media Records. The first disc features one complete live show recorded live in Katowice in 2004, all video clips (from "Opium" to "Everything Invaded"), an in-depth interview with all current band members and a detailed discography. The second disc offers a historical overview of the Portuguese metal group's period as a Century Media recording artist, with no less than 50 live tracks, starting with some very old-school live rehearsal recordings back in 1992 and ending with live footage from the "Spreading The Eclipse Tour".
