"Metal" Mike Chlasciak (SEBASTIAN BACH, HALFORD, PAINMUSEUM), considered by many to be one of metal's premiere guitar shredders, is currently in the studio finalizing pre-production for new solo material, after concluding a U.S. trek as a sideman axe-slinger for ex-SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach. BEHEMOTH

New studio footage available

On Monday, February 16, Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH entered Radio Gdansk studio in Poland to begin work on the follow-up to their highly acclaimed 2007 album, "The Apostasy". Daniel Bergstrand from Sweden's Dugout Productions (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, DARK FUNERAL) has joined the band in the studio to produce the drums on the record. RESURRECTED

New album title revealed

Long-running German death metallers RESURRECTED have set "Fierce" as the title of their sixth album. The CD was recorded in part at Catacomb Productions and will be mixed starting on March 27 at Soundlodge Recording in Rhauderfehn, Germany with Jörk Uken (GOD DETHRONED, OBSCENITY). The cover artwork (see below) was created by Plamen Kolev from Memories From Tomorrow. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Perverse Consecration", "Divine Masturbation" and a cover version of MORBID ANGEL's "Day Of Suffering".... More...

THE LEGION

New album in April

Swedish black/death metallers THE LEGION, who feature in their ranks former MARDUK drummer Emil Dragutinovic, have unveiled the cover artwork and track listing for their third album, "A Bliss to Suffer". Due on April 27 through Listenable Records, the CD was entirely produced by the bandmembers themselves at Art Decay Studio during a series of sessions in 2007 and 2008 an "displays the relentless speed and severe brutality of previous efforts blended together with strangely atmospheric and epic elements, taking the lethal concoctions to new heights," according to a press release. The band says, "Vocalist [Lars] Martinsson is back as a permanent member after commitments elsewhere, and celebrates the return with a never-ending row of ghastly shrieks all through the album."...
