THE ROTTED, VOMITORY

Great show, empty venue

As the tolerance man I can to understand everything – I know, that’s in the middle of week, I know, that the school year has just began, the same as I know, that Berliner S-Bahn plans the increasing of tickets prices, but almost 40 persons at the concert of THE ROTTED and VOMITORY in over three millions metropolis, that’s simply a pure scandal!

I would never expect, that both bands under Metal Blade charge have so weak supporting by the Berliner metalheads, who settings probably all of circumstances mentioned above, preferred to stay at home. Wondering however about the low attendance can to suppose, that the other of reasons could to play here a role too. Announced before as the headliner of this concert INCANTATION, which cancelled their participation in due of personal problems one of the members, could probably to appeal a more people. But – what had happened is happened, instead of John Mc Entee’s crew appeared the Englishmen, so I think the next deliberations are in this situation senseless. As it was planed, the gig was started by the butchers from Forshaga. VOMITORY belongs since many years to the elite of my Swedish death metal masters of massacre, presenting on the stage the skill of slaughtering more than perfect, so nothing strange, that I could to be complete easy about the form of Gustafsson brothers and their comrades. By the first sounds of murdering repertoire of Swedes was very clear, that the number of people gathered in front of the stage won’t increase, so the guys, pretending as they would pay no attention to it, were crushing by the riffs of “Scavenging The Slaughtered” everybody standing (even not directly) in front of them. The worst was unfortunately, that the concert sound was struggling along very, very wrong and sometimes could to experience the impression, as the half of instruments (especially bass and one guitar) is vanishing somewhere… Finally everything normalized itself and during the tens minutes of VOMITORY performance, consisting itself of the tracks from the four last albums, we had occasion to listen yet “Blessed And Forsaken”, “Retaliation”, “Terrorize, Brutalize, Sodomize”, “Rotting Hill”, “Gore Apocalypse”, “Under The Clouds Of Blood”, “Heresy”, “Primal Massacre” or crowning the act of bloodshed “Chaos Fury”. I don’t know, or taciturn like always Erik Rundqvist was this time complete discouraged, cause as the curiosity can to mention a fact, that every of tracks was announced by the guitarist Peter Östlund. As the reaction of attendance after every of songs was decidedly unenthusiastic (clapping the hands was one and only sign of whatever reaction), I know that the guys probably would finish it in this moment, but wanting to be fair for everyone, they played yet after short pause “Eternal Trail Of Corpses” and this way their task was decisively done.

Maybe some of you would open wide the eyes to your surprise, asking by this opportunity: “THE ROTTED? What hell’s that?”. But the answer is more simply, as you are thinking, cause here is only enough to verify the names of members and everything as plain as a pikestaff. It’s nothing new more, but simply famous GOREROTTED after the name’s changing. Together with this step, the British gentlemen began the new chapter too, mirroring itself by the releasing in this year the new album “Get Dead Or Die Trying”. The promotion of the new work is in every case something normal, so although short presenting of the new stuff must to be included. A piece of the new album, except of title track was of course presented by the songs like “Angel Of Meth”, “The Howling”, “Fear And Loathing In Old London Town”, A return To Insolence”, “Nothing But A Nosebleed”, “The Body Three”, standing not of course against the background and selecting too the tracks from previous albums, recorded yet under the old name: “Stab Me Till I Cum” from “Mutilated In Minutes” or representing the album “A New Dawn For The Dead” a track titled “Pain As A Prelude To Dead”. I don’t remember already the order, but one is sure – the gig of THE ROTTED was full of violence, brutality and first of all – very great sound, which absolutely can’t to compare with the sound reached by VOMITORY. Can’t to hide a fact, that the Englishmen as opposed to the Swedes stays more active at the stage, but that’s only a merit of Mr. Ben Mc Crow, named simply as Goreskin and destroying his respectable throat or guitarist Tim Carley, the jumping dreadman, whom all of bad children knows better as Fluffy, he, he! Yes, the show of THE ROTTED was not only full of bloody brutality, but full of energy too. I hope, that the new way, which was began by them will be successful in every of inches, bringing to them more profits than those reached yet under the previous banner. I wish it to them very sincerely, having a hope to watch their new personification more than one time. The worst of this all was, that receiving the important phone shortly after interviewing VOMITORY, I was forced to leave the walls of K 17, running to home so fast as it was possible. Shit! This way the planned earlier interview with THE ROTTED, which would expose probably the details of new chapter and plans for the closer and further future didn’t happen. Hope, that guys will forgive me, and by the occasion of next meeting with them I will hear, that the things goes better and better. Good luck!
