INQUISITION, ELITE, IMPERIOUS MALEVOLENCE

The last weekend of August and one day before the end of holiday, everyone, who came back from and wanted especially to celebrate those circumstances, could to visit the inside of K 17 and watch three bands, which maybe aren’t so popular among the most of metal maniacs, but surely note worthy and not devoid of specific elements, bringing the positive impressions.

The exploding mixture of Brazilian-Norwegian-American heavy riffs was probably very good impulse to gather under the roof of known to all Berliner maniacs of metal club situated in the east side of this city, cause their number, filling very tight the room, where all was happening, confirmed the fact, that space on the second floor of club complex, which was rent for the need of concert is simply too small and better would be to organize this all in the right main room of K 17, but what is happened, is already happened and nothing was already able to turn back a time. A worthy man, Jörg of Folter Records, acting like in the most of cases a function of main organizer was surely from this reason very satisfied (probably even more than very), but the big interesting of people to this concerts was beyond all of his expectations, and didn’t foresee the crowds, longing the pure, mainly black metal massacre. The hot air and frowst, filling soon the small room, being very nasty already during the performance of first band. The mystery of evil began the Brazilian IMPERIOUS MALEVOLENCE. I saw this band but almost three weeks ago during this year edition of Party San in Bad Berka, when the trio was opening the third day of those festival, but as I remember, the music of this horde, playing the barbaric death metal not especially took my fancies. I don’t know why, but maybe death metal sometimes unequal to death metal? Probably yes… Similar like in those days, the guys crowned their gig by the cover of SODOM “Sodomy And Lust”, but even in spite of the big love, which I feel to Tom Angelripper and his comrades, I don’t suppose, that Brazilians will become one of my favourite bands. Period.

I can however to confess, that the second band liked to me very, very more, although the style playing by him was completely another than by predecessors. ELITE comes from Norway and like the most of hordes from this country plays – what??? Who knows? Of course black metal. Without keyboards, without howling women, even without corpse-paints on the faces of musicians, but in spite of all those elements, very good and pleasant for ears black metal… The latest work of Norwegians, titled “We Own The Mountains” and released by the Folter Records was of course partially presented through the tracks like “Volvens Vinterseid”, “Wintermoon King”, “Fra Askens Kilde”, “Født Til Vandidd”, “Likmyren”, “Vi Skyr Ingen Strid”, but didn’t lack absolutely the breath of previous stuff (“Berserkeren”, “Bifrost”, “Tåke”, “Vikingfjord”). I would lie, admitting, that the gig of ELITE was exaggeratedly splendid, but the good sound, self songs and generally atmosphere, created by the music of this band, had really a specific element, deciding about the grandness of whole show, so I think, that in this moment I could to stop these describes.


Many people have the problem how to classify this band, regards of his origin. INQUISITION formed already 20 years ago in Columbia, since a long of time is leading his activity in United States, what shouldn’t to be especially surprising, when Dagon, the mainman of the horde is born American. Now, as you know finally with which country this crew should to be united, I will approach to you the next important details about his performing genre and personal structure. These another things are the facts, that the present band plays black metal, what is rather not so popular in this enormous country (during the interview Dagon has confessed me however something another) and except of this – in two-persons line-up even on concerts! How much of you knows the similar example? Help me, cause I have personally a little bit of difficulties… Reasons of those circumstances is very difficult to await the spectacular show, but the music – first class. Even without the bass player, the orchestration creating by Dagon (guitar and the voice of Satan) and Incubus (drums) reaches the maximum of aggression and hate, so typical for black metal, which much of orthodoxies would imagine themselves very well. The unholy duet immolated all gathered in front of the stage with the help of parts the sounding rituals, named following “Into The Infernal Regions Of The Ancient Cult”, “Invoking The Majestic Throne Of Satan”, “Magnificent Glorification Of Lucifer” or the latest “Nefarious Dismay Orations”. I don’t remember even all of tracks presented this evening by INQUISITION (I remember however, the moments, when the people we completely raging, like for example during “Crush The Jewish Prophet”), but I know only one – this band deserves for the complements without hypocrisy, exaggerating or sweetening. That’s a band, which can to be sincerely classified as original in every of inches, even in spite of a fact, that his repertoire presents something, that we have heard so many times, similar as our going during all day to the toilet, he, he! Maybe a part of you will agree with me, maybe another part won’t do it, but I will never change my opinion – Dagon and Incubus are the kings of black art. Hail INQUISITION!
