After two years of preparations and promises, that “this year finally”, I have visited a festival made by one of my friends. The 11th edition Under The Black Festival, done every year by a man, who has love to black metal in his whole heart – Jörg of Folter Records – had assembled during two days 15 underground bands, providing like always the devilish impressions to all of maniacs the hellish sounds. The 19th edition

This year I came to small town in Schleswig-Holstein land earlier than always. With the help of special shuttle-bus, leaving Berliner Zentral Omnibus Bahnhof a day before the beginning of festival, I have arrived to the place yet the same evening. The atmosphere of event, visible and hearable by the Italians, Spaniards and Englishmen, traveling with me by this shuttle-bus was not one and only sign of hot excitement, cause the black crowds, filling the streets of town and supporting by the bottles of beer or wine, scanning the verses “Wacken yeah!”, were the best circumstances of awaiting for real, 3-days music hell, which soon had to be unleashed. Three days of killing

Tradition is tradition, so like every year, a one week after Wacken, I have visited Bad Berka too – a small spa in Thüringen (East Germany), where instead of healing the rheumatism, sciatica or another complaints, a few thousands of people comes to Party San Open Air – a smaller than Wacken, but sure noteworthy festival, concentrating mainly the bands of extreme metal arts. The participants announced in this year, especially a few hordes of old school (but not only), were a sufficient impulse to pack up oneself with a friends into the car and hearing the music of idols, to drive towards the town placed among the majestic mountains. It was a very hot day, not only reasoned by a temperature, which came to Berlin with the beginning of the late spring, but by the true hell for which were responsible three North American acts of music butchery. The Canadians from CRYPTOPSY, freshly after releasing the new album “The Unspoken King” have begun exactly their European tour and supported by the American aliants from UNMERCIFUL and DECREPIT BIRTH have started with the massacring sound crusade, from which first of the stations was a capital of Germany. ORIGIN in Berlin? I can’t to hide the fact, that hearing this message, I was a little bit excited. Like for a horde, staying rather still as the underground band, but assembling a few famous names, the European tour was certainly a good occasion to watch the crew from Topeka in action. Adding to this all yet the quality of her albums and a presence of another US band, specializing itself in brutal and soaked with blood art of death metal extreme – IMPALED, a pretext to visit the K 17 club again was more than convincing, especially having to travel only a few S-Bahn stations. Pleasurable Adventure

For the second year in row long-haired and dressed in black metal troops occupied Josefov fortress near Jaromer (20 km from Hades Kralove and 2o0 km from polish border). Those who are superstitious say that 13 is a unlucky number, but not this time. Joined forces of Czech, Slovak, Polish, German, Austrian, Lithuanian, Russian, Bulgarian and even Swedish metalists were stronger than in 2007. In my opinion definitely more than 10 thousands of dedicated maniacs came to celebrate the biggest metal fest in eastern and central Europe. Without any doubts there’s no other festival in that area with such a strong line-up. More...
