ICED EARTH [Time For Opus Magnum]

ICED EARTH

Time For Opus Magnum

3 long years have left since “The Glorious Burden” release but those who think that Jon Schaffer has been lazing around must be wrong. Pull the other one. This guy lives, breathes and shits with heavy metal 24 hours a day. He’s bursting with energy so much that he prepared stuff for 2 full-length releases linked by one story. The boss himself describes it as his life’s work and hearing the first part it’s hard not to believe him, since ICED EARTH of AD 2007 is the band being in an excellent artistic condition. In addition Schaffer can tell about his greater passion in a long and interesting way. And so I invite you to read this exhaustive interview. You’ll find here all the answers to your questions about “Framing Armageddon” which you’re afraid to ask. More...

HEAVEN SHALL BURN

Iconoclasts Revolt

It’s no use in making inventive introductions here. Grab good chilled beer, turn the amplifier’s knob on full and give “Iconoclast” a play. I guarantee that after a few minutes you won’t have doubts why we publish a talk with Maik Weichert who turned up on an interview on behalf of HEAVEN SHALL BURN. More...
HATE ETERNAL [Fury And Flames]

HATE ETERNAL

Fury And Flames

I repent, I didn’t hold this band in high esteem up to excellent “Fury & Flames” release. Their stiff mechanical death metal, even if damn strong technically, until recently seemed to me to be gradually blurring the boundaries between music and usual noise. This highly subjective point of view can’t shade the objective issue- during the recent years HATE ETERNAL have became one of the most important bands on the American death metal scene. You must be blind not to perceive the range of destruction caused by the HATE ETERNAL attacks or the iron consistency in which Erik Rutan scorches along. Few weeks ago the album appeared in stores and with pleasure I talked about it with the band’s master. By the way, did you know that “Rutan” means “Satan” in Czech?

DEICIDE [Till Death Do Us Part]

DEICIDE

Till Death Do Us Part

In a history of DEICIDE very easy can to specify three chapters. The first of them, the most praiseworthy, when the Americans admired the world by the classics like “Deicide”, “Legion”, “Once Upon The Cross” or “Serpents Of The Light”. The second, standing under the sign of albums like “Insineratehymn” or “In Torment In Hell”, which – admitting softly – hadn’t thrown the world to knees. And finally, this third, started by “Scars Of The Crucifix”, after that from band were relegated the Hoffman brothers, admitted as the misers and untalented persons. Recorded with Ralph Santolla and Jack Owen in line-up the next album “The Stench Of Redemption”, as we know absolutely didn’t rapture, although in opinion a lot of critics it was the best album of DEICIDE since many years. Unfortunately, the personal problems of Glen Benton and the next line-up perturbations reasoned a lack of good luck. Coming into being in a horrible mess a new album of Floridian death metal legend “Till Death Do Us Part” wasn’t in this case to entitle the highest top of artistry, about what the drummer Steve Asheim perfectly knows, but doesn’t want to tell.
