In the terror zone

-As we have walked away from music, I suggest to return there. As the news informs, you are writing the stuff for a new album…
Yeah, in this moment we write a new material and I play from this reason 8 hours in one day, what can to be very fucking tiring (laugh).

-So, writing the new songs has in your case nothing to do with the energy and spontaneous creation, but stays rather a very tiring work?
You know, it all depends from the treatment. Our treatment commands us to record the best album, which we can to afford. It happens every time and in due with a fact, that we have made already a some of things and can to be very critical for ourselves, wanting nothing to repeat, we must to spend our time for this, that a new songs would to satisfy us. Non stop I search a new riffs and thinking, that’s something similar already done, I throw it away. This way, a much of good conceptions goes to the waste-basket, but exactly that’s it. The new album could to be ready even in last year, but KREATOR had never taken the line of least resistance.

-Could you tell something about new stuff? You have declared somewhere, that is coming to being a very brutal, live material…
Yeah, it can’t to bank for next “Renewal” (laugh). 8 songs are ready and I can only to admit, that it will be very aggressive, fully thrash metal album. It will be very exciting, immediate and full of energy record, but some another than everything, that we have earlier created. It’s absolutely no easy task, but I believe in our success. Actually we are working with two next songs and when will be ready, we enters the studio to all record. A recording session begins in the second half of July, but new album will be released not before at the beginning of the new year. I promise, that the fans of stronger KREATOR visage won’t be disappointed.

-Probably we wouldn’t to talk, if not your cancelled tour across the USA, where you had to play together with KING DIAMOND. The King has fallen unfortunately ill…
Yes, we regrets those cancelled tour, but I hope, that we will repeat this idea. But at the same time, I am very satisfied from this situation, because we have probably the most creative time in a history our band now. We are playing not so many shows now, concentrating ourselves only on our new album. I think, that this pause will be all the better for us and if we will attack, we do it with a double strength.

-Soon you will play as the headliner of Polish Woodstock Festival. I don’t know or are you conscious, that’s not a typical metal festival. How was it possible to push there yourself?
The organizers have contacted themselves with us and we have simply accepted their proposal. Of course I know, that’s not a typical metal fest, but we treat it like a next challenge. First of all, it will be a good occasion to present ourselves to the another public. Polish Woodstock is a really big music party, so will be very nice to stand finally on this famous stage (laugh).

Mille Petrozza is known as a fanatic opponent of Nazism, what he has demonstrated many times in his own art. The lyrics of songs like “People Of The Lie” or “Europe After Rain” are very clear against the fascism. The leader of KREATOR many times expressed officially his opinion about racist organizations, naming them as a cancer eating the modern society. In one of interviews for Metal Hammer before few years, he said, that the people with those arts of convictions are simply destroying the air. Very often the vocalist and guitarist of KREATOR has no fear regards the critic about George Bush and his vision of patriotism, calling him strongly as “the cowboy-idiot”.
