In the terror zone

-Anyway, Germany is in this question a very specific country. Many of bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE or IMPALED NAZARENE stands by you on the black list. Very often are charged about the promoting of violence, evil and the Nazi influences. The last can yet to understand, but nobody still had killed the somebody else after watching the film with artificial gore…
Would you like to know my opinion? It’s a joke. The Germans are very oversensitive by Nazism, but on the metal scene are not so many bands of this kind and these are not surely the bands, which you have mentioned. The same refers itself the horrors, where that’s a point to frighten somebody or awake his imagination, but absolutely not to breed a race of serial killers, as some of people thinks. Horror is a kind of art and the censoring is any of problem solutions, because all of those stickers with warnings influences on the kids more than whichever of advertising. I remember, that when I self was a child, I have eaten a much of horrors and in spite of, that there were a very extreme things, I am very normal guy. I am absolutely not cracked up today. A problem is something others. If somebody kills his family, rapes the women or makes the other of atrocities, that’s not reasoned by the music, which he has heard or by film which he has watched. In my opinion this is a very big social problem. If a serial killer has listened a pop music or has watched passionately a South American TV-Novels, nobody will even to think about, that to search a reason there. But if we have to do with metal or another kinds of extreme art, everybody says, that here’s their fault. I don’t want even to comment it. It’s a fucking joke.

-Let to talk yet about 80s/90s. It was a time of big changes in European government forms, the countries depended since years from Soviet Union, finally became itself independent. How reminds you those days?
You know, I wasn’t probably aware what’s the matter on earth. I was young, interested only with my own band, so I have concentrated myself only here. Of course, I watched TV, read the newspapers, but those events had for me the meaning only that’s why, that finally I could to think about hitting the world. Earlier it was from various reasons more difficult, but we have lived in those scheme, thinking that simply it must to be. If I would have the engagement into a politician activity, probably I would judge it another way, but I was completely uninterested with politic questions. I know today, that the fall of Berliner Wall was a one from the most important moments in modern history. I remember how lucky we have felt ourselves, but as I have already reminded not because of changes in world politics, but in due of much new possibilities for us.

-Understand, that before the fall of Wall you had any problems with the system? Weren’t you at heels of STASI functionaries?
We had fortunately any pleasure of confrontation with the sleuthhounds (laugh). On our DVD appears a one man, who reminds about it. STASI generally had a problem with a metal question. In due of punk rock it was more easy for them, cause the leaders of those scene very official were against the system. In their lyrics were still the slogans like “long live the revolution”, “fuck the government” or “kill the STASI”, so a reason to damn was very clear. The punk rockers had a much of problems and were regular persecuted. In case of metal was some similar, but the lyrics treated rather about the society problems, most often in English, so for the agents it was unknown language (laugh). But if somebody would to translate and interpret some of our lyrics, probably we would be damned too. So, what’s the conclusion? If you want to be the agent, you must to learn yourself the languages (laugh).

-You have never declared official your politic orientation, but many times you have told about the politics in extreme negative tone. Do you think that the world could to be better without all of these sly dogs, wearing the suites?
If I have written or told about the question of politics, only because of the grey, poor man, who suffers by the stupid decisions of guys wearing the suites. Every of us is angry, that the people on the world dies of hunger, while the others spends the million dollars for constructing the new bomb. This is a normal, human reaction for this order. Unfortunately, there’s no political option, which would be so good for everybody without hurting the others. The people are very different, sometimes thinking so individual for gathering them under the one flag. Even under the flag of hate (laugh). Those, who plays in society a secondary role, have a right to feel the angry and frustration. The others will be greedy forever, longing something more, than they have got. A social unbalance is very difficult to fix by a few of clever decisions. A good politic is the art of searching those compromises, which allows everybody to live with their true convictions, which cares about every of man, without questions of his convictions, religion or colour of skin. But there’s no compromise in a nature of man, here is a problem. A man treats the conflict and denying of some rules as the element of his evolution. We denies even very often this one, what we don’t understand, only for a rule of denying. Resuming yet your question, a politic is a piece of rumours, but is very needful for us to keep the form of civilization. Correctly understood anarchy would be surely a better solution, but it usually not exist in our consciousness. It must to be however a law, which holds the people in leash, which let us to keep respect for others. In this case I consider a role of politic as useful and very profitable.

-And how’s with democracy? Do you agree with the statement of Winston Churchill, that’s a fatal system, but to this day was discovered nothing better?
You know, a democracy simply… doesn’t work (laugh). This is a good idea, but wrong understood by a man. As example we have so called a German medial democracy, which is factly a kind of medial dictatorship. The politics uses the medias as a tool to forming the social opinion, for their own propaganda. Germany, similar like another of European countries is closing itself in this case to America. Year by year more and more. During the last 10 years we have caught up the USA in the questions connected with manipulating by the public opinion and so called ultracapitalism. This is the way in one direction, it would must to happen something very radical to save us from a tendency of being like a stupid men, who all of voices the medias treats as something sure. Money, lust, greedy and lies are the basic values in the present society, taken from the west patterns. In short, a democracy doesn’t work, because is only a tool of aggressive capitalism.
