PSYOPUS

Shitting on people

-OK, it's time for another awkward question. Is there any PSYOPUS song that could be played on the radio?
It wouldn’t be defying any laws of physicsto do saw. Maybe regional laws for decency but, it is POSSIBLE to play a song on the radio. If you are looking for music that is a little more comprehensible for it’s listners, I would think so. But, I am biased of coarse. I can only see everything from the inside within this band.

-PSYOPUS have been compared many times to such bands as THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, ION DISSONANCE, CEPHALIC CARNAGE and some other freaks. What do you think about such comparisons? Don't you get mad when you see people continuously trying to compare you to someone, mostly without having any special reason for it?
People use the tools they have to understand and explain. They do the best they can. Being associated with such bands is not a bad thing. It’s an honor. The sad thing is when the audience can’t tell the differences all of these bands have from each other.

-Talking about other bands, are you or anyone else in PSYOPUS doing stuff on the side as far as music projects go? What is the current status of such projects as AS THIS BODY, I EXIST or SHITSMACK?
Brian does a new age folk indie thing. As This Body, I Exsist does what they do. When Brian can participate, he does. Shit Smack is a way of life.

-What direction do you see PSYOPUS music going toward? How do you see in next 10 years?
The road less traveled. Still traveling. Still traveling.

-Have you already started writing some new material? If so, could you shed some details on it?
Sure. Always writing. Always thinking. Actually aiming to go into the studio at the end of March to record some B sides for a vinyl we would like to release for the song Boogeyman.

-The last... but definitely not least, what's next for PSYOPUS? What should we expect from the band in the nearest future?
Who fucking knows? Haha.

-Best way to sum it up. Thanx a lot, take care!
