Lost in thought

-We talk about the vocals, so let's also say something about the lyrics. How would you discuss „Silent Ruin” lyrical content, the title and the artwork of the album?
Well, the lyrics is Henka's work. It´s about someone who wakes up and everyone is gone. He don’t remember anything in the beginning, but starts to remember things during the album. I´ll let the title, lyrics and artwork speak for itself. The artwork is done by Gustavo Sazes, and we are all really happy with it. It fits the story perfect.
-To the best of my knowledge the album features some special guest appearances. Since I couldn't find any info on them, would you be so nice as to unveil their names and tell some more about their contribution?
First we have the solo in „Forlorn” by Torbjörn Weinesjö. He´s the guitarist in Veni Domine. Second it’s the solo in „Dark Clouds” by Per Nilsson who plays guitar in Scar Symmetry. Both are friends of the band and they are really talented guitarists.
-Like some of your previous recordings („The Beyond”, „Throne Of Void”, „Bliss Of Solitude”) the new one was recorded and mixed at the same place (Studio Apocalypse). What is so special about that studio? Wasn't a good and refreshing experience to record in a different location, like it happened with „Forevermore”?
We own the studio and that means we have full access to it. If we had payed for all the hours we´ve been out there we had been totally ruined today! Of course it´s nice to just play the drums and let someone else do the mixing etc., but it´s a question of money and time. We might try to do the mixing some where else in the future, but the recording will always be done at our own studio. I talked to a guy, no name mentioned, who has done some really good recordings/mixing about mixing „Silent Ruins” but it got way too expensive for us. In the end I can´t really say we have failed with the sound. Or do you think so?
-What are your plans for the rest of 2009? As far as I know you have already booked some single shows and release parties here and there. A regular tour would be possible as well?
We will go on a tour in Europe for two weeks in April and we have one show near Sweden in August. We really hope to get some more shows this year, it´s so fucking nice to be on stage!
-Your music sounds very epic and solemn. Do you find it hard to re-create such a unique and sophisticated atmosphere known from your studio albums in harsh live situations?
It´s hard to tell when you are on the stage, but I think we manage to do it well.
-What are you hoping to accomplish with the release of "Silent Ruins"? What are your ambitions?
We want to do more shows of course. We also hope that people will like the new one so we can do another one!
-Time to finish our talk. Thanx a lot for the interview. Feel free to say hello to our readers or anything you want...
Thanks to you too! Hi everyone! I hope you like the new album, and I hope I´ll see you all on tour! You are the ones keeping Doom metal alive!
