TERROR

Still hard, still dangerous

-How important is your stage attitude and band's live image for you. Do you make any special preparations or you rather let the emotions flow and act as naturally as possible? Btw how would you describe TERROR's live experience to those who didn;t have a chance to see you shows?
For Me, Scott and Jordan who aren’t straight edge our preparation involves alcohol consumption. After that we all just listen to a lot of good music and get pumped up. Sometimes when we feel cool we’ll do some push ups or something. But for the most part we do just let our emotions flow naturally. We really do believe in what we do and what we say so having a high level of energy in a room full of people that feel the same way is very easy and natural. The live show is an explosion of emotion and energy because we’re all there for the same reason and we all feel so passionate about it. Those 30+ minutes on that stage is what we live for and we’re ready to share that with anyone who’s willing to be a part of that experience.

-Your vocalist Scott is known not only for his love of stagedives but also for his tendency for bizarre and often hilarious on-stage banter. Could you be so nice and explain our readers what are "vogelisms"?
He’s just doing him, he’s having fun. We all joke around a lot in this band and have pretty laid back attitudes. We feel comfortable on the stage and don’t feel that we’re above anyone and know that we’re in a room full of our peers. There’s no need to try and put up a front and act a certain way or be „cool” when you’re with your peers. I think he just talks to the crowd how he would talk to any of us. The Vogelisms thing is funny. Someone made a website dedicated to some of his most famous quotes. Some of them that have been put up on there he never even said and I can attest to that, but they’re still damn funny.

-You've played a lot of tours. Was there a tour that you regret that you've decided to go on? And the one that you regret that you didn't play , although there was such a chance?
I don’t regret any tours that we’ve done. Each one has been it’s own great experience one way or another. We don’t have any regrets as a band.

-Did you already start workin' on next album. Could you be so nice and describe the differencies between new and old songs? Is it possible that it will be recorded or maybe released this year?
I doubt that anything will be coming out this year. We’re focusing on touring on this album and going to places that we haven’t had the chance to play yet. Our tour schedule for this year is pretty crazy already. We’re going to be on the road A LOT. There’s new song ideas that have already been written and demo versions recorded but nothing has been solidified just yet. There’s a natural difference in the new stuff. Still hard, still TERROR. Some new flavor thrown in on some of the stuff. Some old flavor present on the other. You know, all those typical answers.

-Please don't treat this question too seriously, but don't you think that your band's name is a little too common. According to metal-archives.com there were 8 TERROR metal bands and the word "terror" was used in 104 band's names. Btw. did you ever had any problems with your band's name in US? Especially after 9/11 it may sound too provocative for some people.
It may be common but not too common in my opinion. We’re doing fine with the name. This question is actually the first time that it’s ever been brought up. I really like the name. It’s easy and so bold at the same time. The name really sticks in your memory and I like that it’s not 10 words long like a lot of band names these days. Where some people go in one direction in making a band name by trying to be very innovative, this band went the other I guess. Never had a problem with the whole 9/11 thing though.
