Brutality as their trade mark

-On this tour you are playing together with CHILDREN OF BODOM. Is it a good idea in your opinion to play a tour with the band some different stylistically than yours?
I think, that’s a good idea to do it sometimes. Not every tour, you know, some tours we wanna do with bands that are very close to the CANNIBAL CORPSE style, you know, maybe do a tour with some bands like IMMOLATION or SUFFOCATION hopefully, some time we can tour with them, with those bands again or... Any band like they we really like to tour with, because it is very close to our style. But at the same time to tour with a different bands like CHILDREN OF BODOM we touring in this time. In the past we did a tour, that was a festival tour in America where IN FLAMES was playing, TRIVIUM and few other bands that were a little bit different from our style. And it’s a good thing to do it sometimes, because it gets a new fans interested in our music. And maybe some of our fans will like CHILDREN OF BODOM tonight, you know what I mean, so it’s a kind of a wave for both bands to introduce their fans to some different music, you know, for the new fans to discover each band, so that’s why we try to do the things like this sometimes.

-A one untypical question. Since a few months we have a new president of United States – Barack Obama, who is the 44th and simultaneously the first black-skinned president in the history of your country. But what do you think about him as a man? Remembering your problems from the past with the one of US senators, Bob Dole who tried to unleash the campaign against your band, probably are you full of hope that he rather won’t repeat it?
Yeah, I hope that he would be more tolerant for different forms of art and music, even if ones of them is a little bit extreme, you know. So, I get the feeling that he will be pretty tolerant president, but only time will tell.

-And have you took a part in presidential votes?
I vote it, but I don’t talk about my personal politics, however I am satisfied with the outcome of the election and I live by it that (laugh).

-The second untypical question. I have heard somewhere that as the declared fan of CANNIBAL CORPSE declares probably very serious the one of American porn stars – Jessica Jaymes. Would you put her on the guest list, if she had contacted with you wanting to watch your show?
Who is it? Again! (laugh)

-Jessica Jaymes from the erotic show “Totally Busted”, don’t you know it?
I don’t know this show actually!(laugh) I don’t know the show, but I can say: “hey, anybody who want to check our music is welcome to come” (laugh), so if she want… I don’t know who she is, but if we play, she is welcome to come to see us playing. Maybe she will run away screaming and covering her ears, I don’t know! (laugh). You know, she can come if she want to see it.


-It’s time to finish our talk, so how would you recommend your new album to the fans of death metal that doesn’t know it yet and what could I wish to you in due of 20th anniversary of your existing that we have in this year?
Yeah, actually the 20th anniversary is officially in December of 2008, so it’s a month to we have ago. Just we have now a month anniversary, cause we got together in the end of December 1988 and the first demo was recorded in 1989. I would say to our fans, you know, to lot of fans that have been our friends since a long time and to the new fans I think they will like our new album, because even know we can play for a long time, we still have the mission to make death metal as heavy as we can. And this album is no different that we had to want in that way. Has a different songs, but it’s still 100% death, so I think you will all like it.

-How do you imagine yourself after next 20 years?
Oh, from now? Old! (laugh). I imagine I will be 59 years old after 20 years from now if I will still be alive, but hopefully I will be (laugh). So, I don’t know, you know, it’s a difficult question, because 20 years ago if you had asked me: “oh, 20 years – are you gonna still playing death metal, I would say - I just don’t know. I want to”, but how can you tell? You know, I never could to predict that CANNIBAL CORPSE will make eleven of albums and tour all over the world, these things are all so crazy when I think about them. If I think, if I make my mind, you know, if I try to remember and think back to how I would thought about of this when I was 19 years old I would blown my away. I would never have believed that we could done so much, so I can’t predict what’s gonna happen in 20 years. Maybe nothing to exciting or maybe something even more interesting will happen, who knows?
