Till Death Do Us Part

-I must to admit, that album sounds pretty well, although the session was probably a true horror for you…
Yeah, that’s true. Everything was running not so good, so the result was, that we must to arrange all of her parts in time. During the recording “Till Death Do Us Part”, DEICIDE practically didn’t exist as a rightful band. Earlier all that had happened very conventional, we were meeting ourselves, playing a new stuff and preparing for a session. This time was some differently like always. Glen was for a some time unattainable, Ralph was on tour, Jack somewhere disappeared. I was in this case completely alone, but I tried to go with this all of shit forwards. When the stuff was already written, everybody have listened it and common agreed, that’s a highest time to record it. We have booked the studio and started a work. I have put the drum-tracks, beginning the work with their edition. But some of circumstances reasoned, that we have must to take a 6 weeks of pause. Next I have entered the studio again to some work and then were the next 4 weeks of pause. Ralph came back from tour, he recorded fast a part of his passages and gone for the next tour out. Afterwards had must to wait for Glen, his lyrics and for recording of his passages. It took a long time, gone on and on… In one moment I was by this awaiting so fucking angry, that for two pins I would have record the vocals myself! So, as you see, a session was completely fucking stretched in time, taking us about seven months, although we have spent in studio only 16 – 17 days. I swear, it was the worst and also the best recording session, where I have ever taken a part. The worst, because it took us so much time. It was especially damned and frustrating experience for me. The best, because thank of this situation, I had everything under my control and that’s way the final effect is exactly as we have planned. I think, that’s should to be. Now I understand, why those kinds of bands like METALLICA are recording their stuffs one and half of a year. Somebody has a child, somebody else takes a divorce and nobody cares, that’s in the studio a work to do.

-But that’s anyway a good omen for a future. Haven’t you got generally a impression, that since the moment of your parting with Hoffman brothers, the things goes not so good? I don’t know, but suppose, that DEICIDE line-up was with them a more stronger construction. Some people says, that thank of brothers this band was more “evil”. What do you think about? Maybe it’s time to make the relationships for a new?
Since our parting we have any contacts more, so let it be. They wanted to destroy this band, thank of them we have must to swim in all of those shit. Those guys are not more a part of DEICIDE. They are not even suitable for a musicians and their participate into the sound of this band is totally overrated. But if somebody yearns to the Hoffmans, please – let to buy their last album. But it’s a problem, that’s any album. Why? Cause since the leaving a band, they didn’t record it. Why? Cause they have any motivation to do it. Why? Cause they both knows, that can not to afford something good. I remind, that since the moment when they were kicked out from the band, were released already a two albums of DEICIDE. But still we haven’t heard any second the music of their project, which they have so high glorified. It speaks for itself.

-Everything without changes, so let’s back yet to the new album. In one of your statements regards coming into being a new album, you have assured, that the fans will be surprised by a chaotic nature of “Till Death Do Us Part”. Meanwhile I have impression, that this album gone a more towards heaviness…
I have meant here a chaotic nature of DEICIDE’s music. But you have a right. This album is very heavy and indescribable dark. Like always in our case very brutal, with a some more fully developed textures of tones. First of all, is although very dark and grimy. But except of all, with a very good sound, even better than on our last album. This kind of music awaits from us the kids and exactly this music we are giving to them. This is the whole of DEICIDE, recognizing since the first seconds of music. There’s no place for errors. The feeling of this band is hearable in every second of fucking metal from this album. Maybe it’s not so wild thing like a some of our previous stuffs, but the standard of a heaviness, intensity, wrath and grimy, which we have gathered on, is full satisfying for us.

-So, tell us, or has a whichever of sense to create around every of next DEICIDE albums a weather of “Legion” successor? Don’t feel yourself attacked, but all of those declares sounds enough credulous…
Yeah, I know about it. But we have any influence for this, how our recordings are promoting. It’s a question of our label and I have no grudge against them. “Legion” was the album where a characteristic style of DEICIDE was formed and I think, that in our actual doings still can to smell this stuff. It doesn’t mean, that “Till Death Do Us Part” had to be the next “Legion”. Since those album our band had gone forwards, developing a much of aspects in creativity…

-Exactly… On “Till Death Do Us Part” had found itself a few very untypical things as for band like yours. For example opening the album “Beginning Of The End”, a track having more to do with a sludge doom metal than with a typical death metal esthetic. Appreciable is a monument of heaviness like the beginning of “Horror In The Halls Of Stone”. Are maybe these kinds of experiments a witness, that DEICIDE opens itself for a new things?
We want to stay a death metal band forever and every change of style is out the question. Death metal is our life and our passion. Although the speed was by us a priority of elements since the years, we have never kept off the slowly, also very strong songs. The one of examples is “Crucifixation”, where the beginning is slow and monstrous heavy. On the other albums you will find the slowly and smashing fragments too. I think, that much of people are disappointed by the context of modern types of death metal, those all of bands, basing their music from beginning to the end on blast beatings. We mustn’t already demonstrate to everyone, that we can to play the most fast than somebody else on the world. We can also to spend our time for a differentiation of each passages, which makes the music a more recent. The songs based on the blasts are of course OK., but truly admitting, it’s a very difficult this way to remember something. The riffs, lyrics – all of this disappears in the mass of tones. That’s why are in our music the ideas, being able to persuade everyone, that’s our music is very fucking heavy. Regards “The Beginning Of The End”, it’s not a typical track, but only the intro, introducing into a dark atmosphere of this album. I think, that was a very good idea. Who would like to hear on the beginning of album a intro with nuclear explosion or something others in those style? After all that’s very boring. We decided to write a music intro in another climate. Ending the album, we have put however “The End Of Beginning”, bracing this way all album.

-Which of strong features has in your opinion a new album?
First of all his sound, we are really very satisfied from. Is very fucking heavy. I am personally very satisfied from the drum tracks, which I have made. In some moments are really fast. Besides, I think that the vocal passages of Glen are the best since the years. His voice always sounded splendid, but this one surpassed all of expectations in the department of wildness and brutality. Yeah, Glen on this album is really like fucking angry beast (laugh).
