Ooooh… Ooooh… Ooooh… Only just these words I was able to pronounce after the listening of the newest CANNIBAL CORPSE album, being simultaneously the eleventh bloody work of them. Last year the Floridian butchers celebrated the 20th anniversary of their existence. Two decades of killing by sounds is really a long piece of time, especially taking into consideration the determination and honesty of this crew in playing of brutal death metal. I don’t know which kinds of intentions had the Americans by the recording of this album, but if except of fulfilling their duties towards Metal Blade they wanted to confirm that in spite of the old age they can to be all time the same dangerous like at the beginning of their career, the mission was accomplished more than exemplary.

Yes! The newest attack of CANNIBAL CORPSE is not only another piece of death metal carnage of high quality, but by this opportunity a confirmation of very high form of this band. Still brutal, still bloody, still fucking hideous – like always, without any of compromises and trying to be easy shot. Of course, I have no fault to find with this band, that never tried to play metal for good children, but I can truly admit that after “The Wretched Spawn”, being in a acknowledgement of mine (and not only) a little bit strange and untypical album, the change of studio and new course chosen by group very effectively redressed the balance of brutality, so characteristic for this band. The previous album “Kill” wasn’t maybe a turning-point in career of CC, but I would say personally, that the sound and path traced out on this record decided about the shape of band, that I wish best to myself. As the Americans returns after about three years with their new work titled “Evisceration Plague”, the first of elements that can to be praised is naturally the sound of this album. The repeated choice of Mana Recording Studio with Erik Rutan as the producer was already the first thing, guaranteeing to this band a success on the start. I couldn’t to judge here univocally what decided here about it – the producer talent of Erik or maybe the many years of experience making the musicians still better and better – probably both of these elements, but beyond all of doubts the quality to that we were accustomed by Cannibals since a very long time is here probably the factor playing a main role. Anyway, who could to point although a one shitty album of these guys? In spite of many complications, the mischievousness of destiny or unfavourable circumstances they played always their music, their death metal, the art of extreme characteristic only for them and incomparable with the others of bands. But why I used somewhere here earlier a term “a new course”? CANNIBAL CORPSE was always famous from uncommon brutality, keeping that in every moment of career, but since the first recording with Erik Rutan the art of this band assumed the new colours of music carnage. This time the mainman of HATE ETERNAL not only confirmed his producer skills again, but enriched too the whole by his solo in “Unnatural” song. First of all however on the first plan must to be distinguished Alex Webster as the genial composer of most part this stuff, although his comrades having a participate in this crime are the same important like the genial bass player. Without meaning or we have to do with the opener “Priests Of Sodom”, hatefully fast “Scalding Hail” or “Shatter Their Bones”, crawling with the savage “A Cauldron Of Hate” or title track, not forgetting too about the European bonus of this album – unreleased song from “The Wretched Spawn” session, sounding maybe a little bit other than the rest, but absolutely not worse. Ah, I must to stop in this place, because “Evisceration Plague” from start to finish includes the strong points of program, making this album exactly this one as I have imagined myself for this band – without mercy, without compromises, without standing on ceremony! So what is yet needful to me? The bandages, dressings and first aid kit – believe me, but the listening of “Evisceration Plague” could to be more dangerous than meeting with Mike Tyson. Ooooh… Ooooh… Auuugh!... Beware!
