Black mass or innocent games with Devil

STIMULATING ECONOMY
The hardest thing to do in this mess is to decide the question of artistic freedom. Dziubinski, who is being active in the music branch for many years and so has a great experience, has no doubts about it: “In my opinion the art shouldn’t be limited in any case since it simply stops to be the art. An artist who is incapacitated - and so deprived of the right to create something red, square, with or without horns – simply stops to be the artists. Something like that doesn’t make sense, it starts to be the race in a certain category, not a form of art itself…”
However, he adds in a moment that in his opinion what happened on the stage of studio Krzemionki had much in common with economy and even for this reason it shouldn’t be treated too seriously. “Nobody present at the concert believed that what was happening on the stage was true. It was something like that – we will give you a show that you want and you will enjoy it. Afterwards everybody returned to his/her business and I dare say that nobody was especially impressed. As far as I know, nobody changed his/her beliefs under the concert’s influence. Nevertheless, apart from some extreme cases, this what bands do on stage is a common meeting the demands. It’s obvious that metal and black metal artists don’t prey to satan. Definitely the majority just creates their own publicity. Every artist tries to find the mode of artistic expression increasing his/her popularity and that’s the way it was in that case…”
The head of Metal Mind is aware that the alleged controversy of the concert is the great form of advertising the band. But it’s also a pretext for all confirmed metal music opponents suspecting it for a devilish commitment for a long time and advocating for making black metal bands illegal. “Everything what happened during the concert was consulted with TV, producers, directors and stage designers. Everyone knew about it before, such shows aren’t prepared in just 5 minutes! Also those who came to see GORGOROTH knew what to expect. They knew their works, they came and just got what they wanted. In that case making all that mess about sects and looking for satanic contexts is a total bullshit…”
NEXT ATTACK
Few weeks ago Metal Mind Productions once again became the target of attacks for well-known Ryszard Nowak – the chairman of an enigmatic committee. It was him who strongly appealed to ban the performance of “satanic band MARDUK” on Metalmania 2008. “A few days before the festival we were asked by the Polish Press Agency to comment on his statement. We sent them back to the websites describing in details his activities. Soon we got the message that according to the gathered information they don’t give a shit about Nowak’s sensations. And that’s how it ended…”
Festival took place according to the plan, Swedes gave their show and there were no scandalous disturbances. But what does Thomas Dziubinski think about Ryszard Nowak’s activity, anti-black metal crusade and the problem of sects? “Black metal bands activity, leaving out any extreme cases, has so much in common with sectarianism as dick with heaven. These are two completely different stories. Real sects are a real problem and I completely support the actions of centres struggling with sects. But the public/church centres and other groups really concerned about the problem of sects are absolutely intolerant of Mr. Ryszard Nowak. They placed statements on their websites that they shouldn’t be associated with this person. He himself is looking for his own publicity writing certain strange letters. Maybe he’s got a purpose in it, some certain intentions, but nobody knows what they are so far. First and foremost he’s incompetent but the fact that he writes those letters causes people to try to treat him seriously. But the fact is that he’s nobody. In our country everyone can set up his own “committee”. But what is it actually?? It doesn’t even have any legal status but sounds good enough for 98 people out of 100 to admit that it must be a serious institution. What can we do, we live in such times…”
