Destroys hotel room in Vienna

Peter Vinthagen Simpson of The Local reports that Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL have admitted to smashing up a Vienna hotel room on their European tour. "We are ashamed," confirmed the Gothenburg band's drummer Anders Johansson, according to a report in the newspaper Expressen. The band was partying at the Hotel Fürstenhof in the Austrian capital Vienna when things got a little out of hand.

Johansson admitted that a large quantity of beer had been consumed when he and guitarist Oscar Dronjak decided to show off some of their taekwondo moves on the hotel's furniture. Dronjak reportedly injured himself when he tried to headbutt an offending inanimate object in the hotel room. "His head now looks awful. We are hoping he will be able to cover it up. In Prague (this evening) the show is going to be recorded. He is very ashamed at the moment," Anders Johansson said.
